International Travel Medical Insurance
Coverage for visitors and international travelers who aren’t protected by U.S. health insurance — one of the highest-volume categories in travel insurance, and one of the easiest to add to an existing book of business.
Team up with Treppy® →Who this covers
This covers non-U.S. citizens and residents traveling to the U.S. and worldwide — visitors on B1/B2 visas, family from abroad, foreign nationals passing through on short-term visas, and international travelers more broadly. It’s one of the highest-volume categories in travel insurance for a simple reason: visitors aren’t covered by U.S. health insurance, and a routine ER visit here can run into the thousands.
An easy add to your book
Nearly every agent already has clients with ties overseas — parents visiting, a foreign business partner, someone hosting relatives for a wedding. It’s an easy add, too: policies can be issued even after the traveler has landed, so there’s rarely a moment where it’s simply too late to help a client.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get a client covered after they’ve already landed in the U.S.?
Yes. Most plans in this category allow it.
Does it cover pre-existing conditions?
Only the acute onset of one, and only on some plans. Always check before advising a client with a known condition.
Is COVID-19 treatment included?
On most plans, yes. A few exclude it outright, so check per plan when quoting.
Would an elderly visiting parent even qualify?
Plenty of plans cover travelers into their 70s and 80s, some up to 99. Expect a higher premium and tighter pre-existing terms with age. Check the plan’s age limit to confirm eligibility.
